Diving Coach - Brian Book
In his fifth season as the Diving Coach for Ohio Wesleyan University, Coach Book has continued to recruit talented student athletes and continues to put OWU diving on the map. Currently the roster consists of 4 male divers and 2 female. All have been successful in dual meets and have placed well at other meets such as the NCAC Relay meet and the Washington University Invitational.
Coach Book came to Ohio Wesleyan University as the Diving Coach since 1998, adding OWU to his high school program. In addition to building the diving program at Ohio Wesleyan he has coached divers from many different high schools including many state qualifiers and many who have gone on to dive at the collegiate level, including a two-time Mid American Conference Diver of the Year. He also runs a US Diving training program - Bishops Diving Academy that began in 2003.
Book is a native of Delaware, graduating in 1991 from Delaware Hayes HS. He went on to dive for Syracuse University where he was an All-Big East performer. He currently lives in Delaware with his two-year-old daughter Meredith.
The Diving philosophy is very simple. The aim is to recruit good student athletes no matter the talent level, who want to work hard and become better divers. We practice 5 days a week, but the diver's education is always the first priority. At OWU, we believe that a good student who is motivated and puts forth a level of effort in the classroom will also be capable of putting forth the same level of effort and have a great deal of success in the pool.
