The original purpose for starting </B></div> <div> <B>the club was three fold.  First, to give a small group of </B></div> <div> <B>year-round competitive swimmers a local place to train. </B></div> <div> <B>Second, was to help fund Ohio Wesleyan Swimming and Diving. </B></div> <div> <B>Third, an attempt to attract competitive swimmers to Ohio </B></div> <div> <B>Wesleyan. Since then, we have added a few more. Fourth,to </B></div> <div> <B>instill the correct age-appropriate training, not just</B></div> <div> <B>swimming a lot of practices and yards. Fifth, to train</B></div> <div> <B>young swimming coaches who would like to pursue this as a</B></div> <div> <B>career.   </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>The club has called Ohio Wesleyan University its home </B></div> <div> <B>since inception. Because Ohio Wesleyan is a private </B></div> <div> <B>institution, the pool nor any other facilities on campus </B></div> <div> <B>are public. Ohio Wesleyan has been very gracious to allow </B></div> <div> <B>DORC to use the facility.  Because the money from the </B></div> <div> <B>program either goes to the young coaches or directly into </B></div> <div> <B>the Ohio Wesleyan Swim Team budget, it is a non-for-profit </B></div> <div> <B>club.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Each season we face challenges: will there be time,</B></div> <div> <B>space or enough coaches to run this program correctly? This </B></div> <div> <B>fall there will be even more challenges due to the increased </B></div> <div> <B>size of the OWU Swimming Team. </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Therefore, at this time DORC will not be adding new members </B></div> <div> <B>for the fall/winter season 2008-09. We will know more at the</B></div> <div> <B>beginning of September about the possibility of new members</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>The next few years before the new OWU pool is built will be </B></div> <div> <B>challenging,but I am looking forward to when we have more water </B></div> <div> <B>time and space. </B></div> <bR> <bR> <div> <B> </B></div> <bR> <bR> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
