'30Janice (Work) Smith received her MA from Ohio State University in Family Relationships. Janice retired in 1967 from University of Connecticut where she taught Child Development & Family Relationships. She had a book published in 1995 entitled "Adventuring Down The Waterway". She and her husband, Dr. Roland B. Smith, have one daughter Leslie, who is also an OWU graduate. '31Reginald Maxwell is a retired instructor of mathematics from Boston University and has been a football official with N.E. Association for 24 seasons. '33Martha (Davies) Stone presently lives in Columbus Ohio. '42Mary B. (Burlingame) Young is presently serving her 3rd year as City Council Mayor for the City of Arcadia, CA . Mary and husband Richard have 3 adult children. '44Shirley A. Hulton is retired and enjoys traveling. Shirley received her MA from Syracuse University. '46Corinne (Reed) Abatt is a retired journalist and is a freelance writer. Corinne has an MA from Miami University of Ohio. Cyrus W. Stimson received his MD from University of Michigan and is the Medical Director at the Young Adult Institute in New York. '47Margaret (Hanna) Hoskins received her MA in Sociology from Ohio State University. Margaret is a retired poetry therapist. Margaret, and husband Clayton, have 3 adult children '48Leah (Benninghoff) Hubbard has two adult children both with masters degrees. Leah is retired, but spoke this winter to area church youth groups on "Ten Rules for Good Mental Health" based on the last chapter of her old textbook "Psychology of Adjustment" by Shaffer and Shoben. '49 Janet (Schmier) Bogin and
her husband, Asher, split their time up between Dayton, Oh. and Santa
Cruz, CA. Janet received her M.Ed. from Wright State University. Virginia (Eley) Kirk is a salesperson for Keller-Williams Reality in San Antonio, TX Isabel Silverman received her MSW from University of Pittsburgh. Isabel is retired after 20 years of working with adults in a community mental health center. She currently represents social workers (NASW) on the Kentucky Mental Health Coalition. '50John H. Lindeman is a retired supervisor and currently lives in Wheeling, WV. '51 Peter Grossman, Ph.D
and his wife, Janet, have 5 children; Shawn, Dana, Noel, Thachary, and
Christopher. Peter received his MS from CCNY, and his Ph.D. from University
of Colorado. He is currently a retired Psychotherapist. '52Ruth (Sieker) Gardner received her MSW from Ohio State University. In 1992, Ruth retired from her private family counseling practice, based in Columbus, OH. Her son, Steve, graduated from OWU in 1979. '54 Jon E. Simpson
is a professor of Sociology at the University of Massachusetts. Jon received
his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. Vera (Schultheis) Wiseman received her MA from University Puget Sound and is currently a family counselor at the Tacoma Cemeteries and Funeral Home. Vera and her husband have 4 grown children. '55Hal Hendrick is a professor of Human Factors and is President Elect of Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. Hal received his Ph.D. in I/O from Purdue. '56Shirley Austin is a lecturer in psychology at Butler County Community College. Shirley has an MS.Ed. from Duquesne University and a CAGS in School Psychology and currently lives in Ellwood City, PA. '58Paul Kimmell is an Adjunct Faculty member at UCLA Saybrook Institute along with finishing a term as President of APA's Division of Peace Psychology. Paul received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan. Judith A. Meier and husband, Louis, have three daughters, one son, and four grandsons. Judith is the author of "Citizen Soldiers of Color: Biographical Sketches of Montgomery County Black Soldiers in the Civil War" which was recently honored with the Award of Merit by the Pennsylvania Federation of Museums and Historical Organizations. '59Wayne Appleman is presently Chief of Staff Reorganization Development of the California Lottery and is doing graduate study in Law and Business. Mary (Welch) Pryde is a retired CPA. Mary and her husband, William, have 3 children and live in Tucson, AZ. Jon Tobiessen received his Ed.D. in psychology from Penn State and currently works in private practice in clinical psychology in New York. '60Sandra Norman Corbett lives in Oakland, ME and is a family therapist at Mid Maine Medical Center. Sandra received her MA degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from LaSalle University. She is married and has nine adult children. Merrill Darlington is currently employed by the San Bernardino County Department of Mental Health as a Psychologist along with a part-time private practice. Merrill received his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. Theodore Lindley retired from the United States Air Force and is presently working as Chief of Security and Transportation, Military Management CmD.E. '61G. Michael Cordnor started a new practice as a pastoral counselor in April of 1995. Michael received his Th.D. from Claremont. James Evans
is presently Associate Professor at the University of Dayton, along with
Program Director for School Psychology. James received his Ed.D. in Educational
Psychology from Indiana University. Robert Warren retired Director of Management Information for the Travelers Insurance Co. and presently owns the Mulberry Hill Farm. '62 Susan (Logie) Mathews
and husband William, have 3 grown children. Susan is currently a self
employed systems analyst after receiving her MA in Social Sciences from
Gannon University. Patricia Williams is currently with the Fresno Unified School District as well as having a private practice. Patricia received her MA from University of Iowa in Speech Pathology and Audiology. '63James C. Saunders, Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. '64Saundra Howard Marling is a research associate for Career Management Resources in Bedford, Texas. Saundra is currently working towards her MA in counseling. She is the mother of two grown children and grandmother of one year old twins. '65Jack Morgan is Dean of Student Life and Development at Maryville University. Jack received his Ed.D. from Penn State University Alice Polley has
3 children and is presently Director of Clinical Support at Sturdy Memorial
Hospital in Attleboro, MA. Alice received her MBA from Boston University.
'66Lora (Cunningham) Kline is currently working toward her Ph.D. at Temple University as well as working at the Temple University Hospital as MIS Training Coordinator. Margaret Day Magno
and her husband, Vincent, have one child, William-age 18 who is attending
James Madison University and studying music. Margaret is a consultant
to high tech coprorations and president of MADM-Computer Industry Consulting

Marilyn (Holm) Murphy received her MA in speech pathology from Columbia University and is currently a self employed speech pathologist. '67Beverly (Winterhaldez) Tignor received her Ph.D. from New School for Social Research and is currently a clinical psychologist and founder of Morris County Psychologist. Ann (Parker) Daunic is an
assistant scholar on the University of Florida faculty in the special
education department and is project director on a federally funded grant
concerning the reduction of aggressive behavior in older elementary students.
She received her MS in psychology from Tufts U. in '70 and a Ph.D. in
special education from UF in '96. She and her husband Joel Daunic '65,
a financial planner with Mass. Mutual, live in Gainesville, FL and have
two sons. (8/99) '68Barbara (Ott) Chavious is presently Director of Alumni Affairs at the School of Public Health, University North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Barbara previously worked as a social worker for county DDS and genetic counselor for NC State Health Department. She received her MPH from UNC Chapel Hill. Carol (Crain) Lytle has three children Tom 19, Jay 16, and Courtney 14. Kathy (Treiber) McNally is a guidance counselor at the North Shore School District in Glen Cove, NY. Kathy received her MA from Long Island University. Arthur VanGundy
in addition to having written eight books on creativity and problem solving,
is a Professor of Communication at University of Oklahoma. Arthur received
his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. '69 Ruth (Hipple) Maki
is a Professor and Chair of the Psychology Department at Texas Tech University
in Lubbock, TX. She is also the Chair of the Examining Board for the Psychology
Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Dr. Maki received her Ph.D. from the University
of California-Berkeley. She is a leading researcher on metacognition of
comprehension, a topic that has great theoretical and practical importance
in education. (12/02) Glenn Ritchie is employed by the US Navy as a Neurobehavioral Toxicologist. Glenn received his Ph.D. from Ohio State University, in Physiological Psychology. '70Gregory Barbato is an engineering psychologist at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. (10/2004) Dennis Buchholz is a neuropsychologist in Louisville, KY. received her MA from Bowling Green State University, in College Student
Personnel. Barbara is Dean of Students at the University of New England.
Steve Markey and wife Claudia, have two children, Kirstin and Timothy. Steve and family currently live in Madison, MS. Steve (MBA, Cleveland State University) is employed with Mississippi Chemical Corp. as a sales manager. HIs daughter, Kirstin is married and completing her final year of graduate work in nurse anesthetists at Duke University. His son, Timothy, is entering law school at the University of Florida. with wife Maryann and son Matthew live in Ohio. Greg is an Engineering
Psychologist with the United States Air Force. He received his MA in experimental
psychology from the University of Dayton. Denis Buchholz has a six year old son named Paul. Denis has a private practice in Louisville as a Clinical Neuropsychologist along with being Associate Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at University of Louisville School of Medicine and Director of Training Louisville Veterans Administration. Denis received his Ph.D. from Ohio State University in Physiological Psychology. Deborah Musselman Griffiths is the director of legislative affairs for the Pennsylvania Department of Health. She and her husband live in Mechanicsburg, PA and are the proud parents of two grown children. Her daughter is a Political Science major at Hollins College and her son is a computer web designer in Washington, DC. Deborah has a MS degree (1973) in experimental psychology from Penn State University. '73Claudia (Truran) Andreoli and husband Pat, live in New York . Claudia runs a junior high youth group and does marriage and family counseling through her church. She also does home schooling for 2 of their children. Marian Mather is Assistant Vice President-Accounting for Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Company in Indianapolis. '75 David Crandall
and wife, Susan Jolley, just had their second daughter, Taylor Jolley
Crandall, August 3, who joins her 3-year-old, sister Katherine Kennard
Crandall and their dog Sophie. David is currently Director of Student
Activities at the University of Southern California. David Jolley
is currently director of development for the School of Social Work at
Washington University at St. Louis. David and his wife, Barbara, are the
proud parents of daughter, Casey, and son, Andrew. Kim (Pivin) Ehrensbeck and husband John, have 5 children. Kim is a Guidance Counselor for K-12 grades. She received her MA in psychology, her MA in guidance, and her certification in school psychology from Tufts University. '76 Deborah Brautigam
is Associate Professor at American University. Deborah returned to OWU
last January to give the John Eddy Memorial lecture. She says it was great
to be back. Deborah received her Ph.D. from The Fletcher School of Law
and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Holly Hickson is on the faculty of a community college in Tennessee. She has her Ph.D. degree and is a licensed psychologist. She reports that her work "has always been service-oriented, but my teaching is grounded in the love for psychology as a discipline which I learned in your department and specially in your classes." 3/00 Mitzi Gail Leedy began a new career this fall as professor of social work in the School of Applied Studies at Washburn University in Topeka, KS. Mitzi received her Ph.D. in physiological psychology from Tulane University and returned to Ohio Wesleyan after a postdoctoral fellowship at UC Davis to work in the Psychology Department's vision lab. She left OWU again for a research position in the Anatomy Department at OSU where she later began working on her MSW degree. Melanie Gay Master
is a clinical assistant professor and Director of Intensive Language Intervention
Clinic at the State University of NY at Buffalo. Melanie received her
MA from the University of Cincinnati and her Ph.D. from the Statue University
of NY at Buffalo. '77Anne (Gibson) Hulse and husband Keith own a Behavioral Medicine Institute which is a private practice group consisting of 8 clinicians. Anne received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University. '78Bruce Borkosky and wife Nancy have a son, Stewart. Bruce is in private practice in Florida. He received his MS from University of Dayton in Computer Science and Psy.D. from Miami Institute of Psychology. Niels Holch is a partner in McGuiness & Holch Law practice in Va. Niels received his JD from Georgetown University Law Center. Priscilla Diem is the executive director of Battelle's Great Lakes Industrial Technology Center in Cleveland. Priscilla lives in University Heights, Cleveland. (4/29/04) Robin (Bell) Schleppi and husband Joe, have 4 children. Robin is employed at the Early Childhood Resource Network where she is a Service Coordinator: She gives identification and referrals to agencies for children from birth to 6 years who have children who have or are at risk of developmental delays. '79Elizabeth (Hendry) Black has 3 children, Ann who is 12, Hayden who is 10, and Nell who is 5. Elizabeth, husband, and family live in Illinois. Julie McGillivray is an Occupational Therapy Supervisor at Smith Clinic of Marion, OH. Daniel Wise received his M.S. in Military History in 2000 and is working for IIT Research Institute, AB Tech Group, Aleandria, VA. He is working as a senior defense analyst on various US Air Force projects providing studies and analysis to validate Air Force strategic and operational concepts in support of the Department of Defense. He is currently a Lieutenant Colonel (AChief of Reserve Component Plans) in the US Air Force. He served 13 years as a fighter pilot that included tours in the Middle East and is currently living in Annapolis, MD. (11/02) '80 Michael Robinson, Ph.D.
is a Professor in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at
the University of Florida. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. from Bowling
Green State University in Clinical Psychology. He is also the Director
of the Center for Pain Rsearch and Behavioral Health and has a joint faculty
appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology at UF. (1/03) '81Jill Anderson is a Clinical Social Worker with the Federated Dorchester Neighborhood Houses. Jill and husband, David Malecki, have one son, Benjamin, who is 2 1/2 years old. She received her MSW from Boston University. Jerri Harris received her MBA from Morgan State University and is with Washington Gas as Manager of Employment/EEO in Maryland. Kimberly (Brown) Isner has a 2 year old son, Samuel. Kimberly is a Child Development Specialist & Household Administrator. She and her husband Tom, live in Ohio. She received her MSW and MA in Public Administration from Ohio State University. '82Lin Hickcox Sigler has been married to Andy Sigler '81 for 14 years. She has spent those years moving often, due to Andy's career as a F-A/18 pilot in the U.S. Navy. They have an 11 year-old daughter and 9 year-old son and recently moved to the D.C. area. Lin is currently pursuing a master's in education as a reading specialist. 11/00 Christopher W. from Duke University and S.T.M. from Yale University. He has two
children, Nathan, 4, and Hannah, 1 and operates a counseling practice
Greer, South Carolina. 11/00 '84Gina M. (Olimpio) Balourdas works at the San Diego Zoo as a Training and Development Manager for the Food Service. She and her husband Arthur have a 3 month old son named Michael. Laura (Barlow) Boulton recently retired from Waring & LaRoas where she was an Account Supervisor for Fisher Price Toys to stay home with her children. She and husband John have 2 children Caroline (4) and Julia (20 months). '85Lynn Cook Bender is the mother of two daughters, Hope (3) and Faith (1) and has stayed home to raise her children. She has helped start a new church. Her husband along with two partners started their own computer services company. (12/00) Catherine Ann Cantone is working for Pharmacia and Upjohn Pharmaceuticals in the public relations area. The focus of her position is oncology and she reports that in addition to publicity for the company she has worked closely with cancer advocate groups supporting them in a corporate capacity in order to help cancer patients and their families. She is recently engaged and begun planning for her wedding. (12/00) Jill Daly is doing a Post-Doc in Neuropsychology at San Francisco General Hospital. Jill received her Ph.D. in psychology from Southern Illinois University. Christina (Littlejohn) Henkel is a Behavior Specialist with Kennedy Krieger Institute. She and her husband Christopher are expecting their first child in September '95. Christina received her MA in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University. Lori (Vener) Johnston
is Manager of Client Services with CSC Research and Advisory Services
and Special Events Planner for a research service for information systems
executives. Lori says she and her husband Bob have no children YET! Susan Newman Klein is busy raising two daughters, Ariel and Rachel, and changing careers to software/Internet marketing. Currently she is a marketing salesperson for Forty Software's Download Wonder, a program to organize files downloaded from the Internet. (12/00) Alexander Lowengard is a Contract Employee at F.D.I.C. David Paul is a full-time faculty member at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. David is an avid skier, 10-year member and instructor with the National Ski Patrol and Sunday River Ski Resort in Maine. (12/00) Jennifer Helwick Shafter is the mother of two children and continues to work occasionally as a genetic counselor while working at home raising her children. (12/00) Jenny Turner is a Behavior Analyst with Medplex Rehab in Seattle. She has worked as a behaviorist in brain injury rehab and now works in a developmental center with people with MR/DD, coupled with behavior disorders. Jenny came back to OWU for Alumni weekend 1995 and visited with the department. (12/00) '86Adam Holtzschue is in North Carolina with First Union National Bank as a Commercial Underwriter. Adam received his MBA from Wake Forest University. Barbara (Hiestand) Ledford is a Program Coordinator with John Randolph Hospital Psychiatric/Recovery Services. Barbara and husband Robert are proud parents of son Carter Joseph born 5/5/95. She received her MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Eunice Sawin Parsons - Married to Daniel Parsons and they have adopted two children Joli (6) and Samuel (5). Eunice worked with the mentally ill and as a medical assistant for a surgeon prior to being a stay-at-home Mom with a family daycare in the home. Helene Russell
is currently completing her Ph.D. in Theology focusing on self hood and
multiplicity. Beth Vietze
is married to David Mangus OWU '87 and they have a son, Brian, born 12/99.
Beth is director of Family Ties, a Worcester, MA support network for families
with children birth through age three. She received her M.Ed. from
University of Virginia. (10/00) Cara Wellman is a research scientist and adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Dr. Wellman received her Ph.D. from Indana University in 1993 and following a two year postdoctoral fellowship in Neurobiology at Amgen in Thousand Oaks CA she returned to Indiana University. Her research interests include age-related changes in neurochemistry and morphology of the frontal cortex and the plasticity of brain to age and stress. (1/2004) '87Alex Berg is married and has two children. Alex is the office manager of Towers Perrin's health and welfare office in Cleveland. He received his MBA from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. 11/00 Stuart Bodager is an project manager in Scudder Kemper Investments' technology department. This Spring Stuart and his wife, Karen, became the proud parents of their first child, Benjamin Frederick Bodager. All are happy and healthy and are trying to adjust to the "lack of sleep." Laura (Havel) Valente is married to Ronald and is a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines. They live in Canton, MI. '88Kristin (Koehler) Alexander received her MSW (Clinical) from Fordham University and is in private practice/consulting providing social service to low-income housing residents. She and her husband, Gilbert, live in New Haven, CT. Lydia Barse is a first grade teacher at The Harbor School in Bethesda, MD. Lydia received her MA.T. in Elementary Education from Simmons College. John Carr married Sarah E. Fisher OWU '94. John is working on his MSW at Hunter SSW and employed at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center as a psychiatric technician. Patricia Ann (Schullery) Corso
has been married for 14 years (Mark) and has
three children. Mackenzie (1994), Madison (1998) and Jack (2001). She
has a masters in counseling from Western CT State University and is currently
enrolled in the Ed.D program in Instructional Leadership at Western. She
is a MS teacher in Sherman, CT. (12/2005) Natalie (Fravel) Hoague and husband Michael live in Delaware, OH. Michael Salvatore is completing his fourth year of postdoctoral work at the University of Kentucky in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology where he is focusing his research on Parkinson's disease and aging. He has a paper coming out in the J. of Neurochemistry that describes a molecular mechanisms for a promising therapy for Parkinson's disease. His research involves putamental (basal ganglion) delivery of glial cell line-derived neurotropic factor (GDNF). Dr. Salvatore received his Ph.D. in neuroscience in 2000 from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He reports that he loves his work and has offered assistance to students like himself who were "seriously considering medical school but may be on the fence with regard to a career in research." Steven Herron will be married to Jill Wessell in October of '95. Steven is an Associate Attorney (criminal defense, domestic relations, PI) with Altick & Corwin in Dayton, OH. He received his law degree from Capital Law School in Columbus, OH. Derrick Kiger married Melanie, and is pursuing his Ph.D. in higher Education at Bowling Green State University. Derick is employed at Owens Community College in Institutional Research. '90Tracy Ann Curtis works in San Francisco at the Gap headquarters where she is responsible for international organization and leadership development. She reports that she enjoys the seasonless sunshine and colorful blossoms of Northern California as well as her two spotted hounds and two orange cats. She lives in the little coastal town of El Granada with her partner, Barry. (12/00) Amy Ballantyne Darcy is married and has two children. She lives in a Chicago suburb and has been working as a child and family counselor until this past spring when she became a stay-at-home mom. (12/00) Lisa Davis is working towards her M.Ed. in community counseling while being a Licensed Social Worker at Portage Children's Center in Akron. She has three children: Ryan, age 6, Kelly, age 2.5, and Rachel, 1 year. Nozomi Minowa has completed her doctorate degree in clinical psychology ('97), postdoctoral fellowship in child clinical ('98). She is married and living in Toronto. (12/00) Heather Platt '90 recently received a Master's Degree in Orientation and Mobility from San Francisco State University and has been working at the Carroll Center for the Blind for over two years. She teaches people who are visually impaired how to remain mobile and travel independently. She lives and works in the Boston area. Michelle has completed an MS in Physical Education from Ithica College and will be pursuing her Ph.D. in Urban Education, Counseling at Cleveland State University. Nicole Snell Wagner is a psychology intern at the University of Akron and lives in Cleveland with her husband Steven Wagner. Nicole received her MA in counseling psychology from The Ohio State University and anticipates her Ph.D. from OSU in 1996. '91Shawntel Crawford is a traveling physical therapist for Health Tours. Shawntel received her BS in physical therapy and lives in Wellsville, OH. Jody Fantasia received her MSW from Boston University and is employed at project RAP/Corner Stones as a Clinical Coordinator. Holley Fuller is currently attending Middle Tennessee State in the EdS program. David Jurich received his MA in Psychology from New School for Social Research. David is currently working towards his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at New School for Social Research and is employed as an Intake Coordinator for the Trustees of Columbia University- Community Support System Program. Erin McLaughlin will receive his M.Ed. with school psychology certification from John Carroll University - expected 5/96. He is a Graduate Assistant at John Carroll University and is getting married 12/95. '92Julie Coss after graduation stayed in central Ohio and worked at various jobs including a three-year coaching position for the women's soccer team at Otterbein College. In 1997, Julie received her master's degree in education/school psychology and is currently working as a school psychologist in the Columbus Public Schools. 11/00 Michael Elliott
received his MS in Preventive Medicine from OSU and is currently working
on his Ph.D. in Psychoneuroimmunology. Michael is married to Kimberly
Klomb, OWU '93. Jim Lloyd received
his MA from the University of Akron and is the Director of Pupil Services
for the Westlake School District in northeast Ohio. His job responsibilities
include supervision of all special and gifted education services, counseling
and psychological services and related services (occupational therapy,
physical therapy and nursing services). He and his wife, Rhonda,
have two children, Mason who is 3 and Tommy who will be 1 in October.

Laura Wurster is teaching seventh-grade English at Chagrin Falls Middle School, her alma mater. They run a chain of English schools in Japan. Phil will be teaching all levels of students in a school in Tokyo. She is currently employed as a school psychologist intern at Brunswick City Schools. Holly Wiesendanger returned to campus briefly this summer and reports that she is enjoying her job as a customer claims representative in the logistics department at Hasbro Inc. She lives in Warwick, RI. (8/99) '99 Heather Fry successfully defended her dissertation in June, 2004 at The Ohio State University earning a Ph.D. in counseling psychology. Kahlenberg is an
anthropology graduate student at Harvard University. She is finishing
her disseration in anthropology at Harvard. Her disseration research has
been on chimpanzee behavioral ecology in Uganda. She is currently working
for a non-proof organization called the Great Ape World Heritage Species
Project, which is based in Cambridge. She is working with the UN to evlate
apes to a higher international conservation satus.

manager and communicationss specialist at the National Center for Missing
and Exploited Children in Alexendria, VA. She mostly handles the
cases of runaway children, making contacts with law enforcement and posters,
and other types of assistances to help parents locate their missing children.

(4/04) Kelly Horstman is teaching high school religion classes at McNicolas High School in Cincinnati. She is also working on her MA in theology at Xavier. She indicates that our research methods course has been helpful to her in developing a study to compare psychlogical adjustment and health of Catholic celibate priests with Anglican or Episcopal married priests. He reports that he loves the challenge of "making new friends and contacts all in another language" and has recently joined an Italian 3rd division Rugby team. (9/00) Rita McMillen as part of the AmeriCorps/VISTA program is the new director of Buckeye Valley Reads, a partnership between OWU and Buckeye Valley East Elementary School in Ashley, OH. Rita was a geology major and psychology minor and is planning to teach earth science in middle school. (9/00) Denise Sabo is employed by the Ohio Psychological Association and is now the Director of Operations and Member Services. She handles all the membership responsibilities, including soliciatation and retention of members, coordination of member services, and much of the association's financial duties. (1/02) Archana Sheth has been accepted into the neuroscience program - Brain, Behavior, and Cognition - at Boston University. She will be studying spatial memory and cognition in rats with amygdala lesions that lead to deficiencies in the hippocampus. Glenda Wucher gratuated from the University of Michigan School of Social Work and the Sol Drachler Program in Jewish Communal Leadership in 05 with a Master's Degree in Social Work and a Certificate in Jewish Communal Service and Judiac Studies. She will be moving to DC to begin her next adventure. In July she will start her new job as the Assistant Director of the Hillel at the University of Maryland at College Park. Cassandra Oestreich graduated from Brandeis University in the Spring of 2003 with a M.S. in Genetic Counseling. She is living in Cleveland with her fiancee and working as a mortgage broker. She is working with Dr. Karla Zadnik, interim Dean, and spent the previous summer at OSU doing research under the NIH/NEI T-35 research training grant. She presented her research using a scanning electron microscope at the American Academy of Optometry meeting in Dallas, TX. Aimee Jo Robson graduated from the University of Florida this past December with a master's degree in public relations. (3/2004) '03 Mika Awanohara has been accepted for admission to the PsyD program at the University of Denver beginning in 2004-05. (04/2004) Karin Greathouse is currently teaching Non-Categorical pre-K and kindergarten inclusion in the greater New Orleans areas as a Teach for America corps member. The program is a national corps that is working to eliminate educational inequity by rallying our most promising future learders - recent college graduates - to teach for two years in urban and public schools and to become lifelong advocates for educational change. (9/2004) Nicole Makarenco after graduation has been busy. She worked at UCLA in a neursocience lab for a while, then a proteomics lab, then in real estate in California before heading north to the University of Oregon to become a post bac fellow in speech / language pathology. During her fellowship she worked in a brain development lab doing ERP studies on low SES and language impaired children. She also ran a battery of behavioral tests and intervention programs on these children. This year Nicole has headed south again to San Diego State University to work on a Master's degree in speech pathology. (11/2005) Jason McCarthy is enrolled in the MD program at the Medical College of Ohio. After receiving his MD, Jason intends to practice medicine while serving in the military. Alex Colins will be attending Law Schook at Widener University outside of Philadelphia. Leia Corthell will be attending the University of Pittsburgh in pursuit of a master's degree in Genetic Counseling. Kimberly Cullis has been accepted to the International Academy of Design & Technology where she will pursue an Associates degree in digital photography. Melissa Digges will be attending The Ohio State University and will working towards a master's degree in Speech Pathology. She is assisting in coordinating three studies concerning mood and anxiety
disorders: a study looking at substance abuse and other outcomes to adolescents
with depression, a study offering treatment (psychotherapy) to children
for PTSD, a study offering treatment to adults for PTSD.
