The role of the Health Professions Advising Office is 3-fold:

*Information source – provides information about many aspects of the preparation and application processes personally, on paper and/or via the internet.
*Advising/counseling– helps students evaluate options and make decisions; assists students in examining their interests, skills and abilities in light of admissions realities; reviews and makes suggestions on applications, choices of schools and other pertinent issues.
*Evaluation– participates in evaluation of students applying to medical and dental schools and prepares composite evaluation letters.

Bioethics sites:
The Hastings Center - “The Hastings Center is an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit bioethics research institute founded in 1969 to explore fundamental and emerging questions in medicine, health care, biotechnology.”

University of Washington Bioethics topics - “Each topic begins with an overview and a series of commonly asked questions. In addition, there are several case-based scenarios with discussions linked to each topic. Links to additional readings and related websites are included at the end of topic."

Scope Note Series – “The SCOPE NOTE Series is intended to present a current overview of issues and viewpoints related to specific topics in biomedical ethics. The Medical School for International Health is a collaboration between Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Faculty of Health Sciences and Columbia University Medical Center to graduate doctors with special skills in primary care and community, preventive, and population-based medicine. Medical College Admission Test Registration Information:
