The role of the Health
Professions Advising Office is 3-fold:
*Information source – provides information about many
aspects of the preparation and application processes personally, on
paper and/or via the internet.
*Advising/counseling– helps students evaluate options and make
decisions; assists students in examining their interests, skills and
abilities in light
of admissions realities; reviews and makes suggestions on applications, choices
of schools and other pertinent issues.
*Evaluation– participates in evaluation of students applying to medical
and dental schools and prepares composite evaluation letters.
