Peace and Justice House Subverting the dominant paradigm since 1986 Last Updated: December 8th, 2006 |
Howdy!
The House of Peace and Justice, a small living unit (SLU) on campus, is seeking MALE housemembers to move in next semester. If you are a male with a passion for social justice and are interested in increasing the peace in your life and the world, think about applying! We are a household of 15 men and women of various majors and interests, united in one big brick house, sharing two bathrooms, a kitchen, programming projects, similar (but not identical) values, and... chore duty!
Every housemate is responsible for organizing programs on campus and in the community that promote the house mission of justice and peace.
Examples of past programs have included hosting the Bread and Puppet Theatre Company, workshops on Cheap Art and Non-violent Communication, organizing a group to attend the School of Americas/WHINSEC vigil at Fort Benning, Georgia, running a soccer clinic for local kids, and lectures, films and discussions about organic farming, refugees, women's rights, and labor issues.
