100 Random Acts of Music!!

In honor of Sanborn Hall's 100th Anniversary, OWU's Department of Music celebrates 2009-2010 with 100 Random Acts of Music!

Events are Unscheduled and Unannounced and will occur throughout the Ohio Wesleyan campus and Delaware community. 

Celebrate Music, Celebrate Sanborn Hall, Celebrate Ohio Wesleyan!

The season-long 100 Random Acts of Music begins now.............

The countdown begins:

#1 - 9/8/09, 12:10 pm, Hamilton Williams Campus Center, Terry Riley's "In C"

#2 - 9/14/09, 9:25 pm, Hamilton Williams, Benes Room C, "OWU Alma Mater" performed by the OWU Music Faculty as the "final announcement" of the first general faculty meeting of 2009-2010

#3 - 9/18/09, 12:00 noon, JayWalk, Thomas Reinman, percussionist, serenaded the noon hour crowd on the JayWalk from the back of Brandon Koehler's pick-up truck!

#4 - 9/21/09, 7:00 pm, Thomson Hall Store, Jabez Co, Jillian Ristau, Lauren Chapman, Chantel Deane, Justin Giarrusso, and Keith Tankersey sang "Build Me Up, Buttercup" for the patrons.

#5 - 9/23/09, 12 noon, outside University Hall, Clarinet Collection, Dr. Nancy Gamso, director

#6 - 9/28/09, 12 noon, HWCC, Dr. David Freedy (our low brass instructor) performed on guitar

#7 - 9/30/09, 12 noon, CWSC, Carpe Diem String Quartet performed in the atrium

#8 - 10/1/09, 1:30 pm, HWCC, Benes Room, Brass Ensemble performed for the Trustees

#9 - 10/1/09, 6:00 pm, HWCC, Benes Room, Dr. Nancy Gamso, flute & Dr. Cameron Bennett, piano performed for the Trustee / Faculty dinner

#10 - 10/2/09, 8:00 am, Gray Chapel, University Hall, Dr. Nancy Gamso, flute & alum Heather Rentz, flute performed for Admissions Fall Open House event

#11 - 10/2/09, 11:00 am, HWCC, Benes Room, Bishop "Pep" Band, Dr. Larry Griffin, director, performs for Academic Open House

#12 - 10/2/09, 12:00 noon, Branch Rickey Physical Education Center, Bishop "Pep" Band, Dr. Larry Griffin, director, performs for Women's Volleyball game

#13 - 10/2/09, 1:00 pm, outside Selby Stadium, Bishop "Pep" Band, Dr. Larry Griffin, director, performs for Tailgate party

#15 - 10/8/09, 6:30 pm central, Dubuque, Iowa, Dr. Jason Bahr was serenaded with "Happy Birthday" by composition students and Dr. Bennett at the Society of Composers, Inc., Conference

#16 - 10/12/09, 1:30 pm, HWCC, Dr. David Freedy (our low brass instructor) performed on guitar
