Alliaria petiolata (garlic mustard) in the Kraus Wilderness Preserve, Delaware County, Ohio Dr. Laurie Anderson is a plant ecologist with research interests in plant physiological ecology, invasive plants, and global change.  Her current research focuses on the ecology of Alliaria petiolata (garlic mustard), a biennial plant native to Europe that invades the understories of North American temperate forests.  Dr. Anderson has also published on plant responses to changing atmospheric CO2, the ecology of oak savannas, and the germination biology of Picea engelmannii (Engelmann spruce) and Abies lasiocarpa (subalpine fir).
