Sept. 17 (Wed) “Computer Training When & Where You Need It” in Corns 109
Ohio Wesleyan University now has access to an online computer learning system to help you learn computer basics, Microsoft Office, Windows and Macintosh.  David Soliday, Trainer/Help Desk Manager, will demonstrate how this system works and how it can benefit you and your productivity.

September 24 (Wednesday) “Multipoint Interactive Video” in AV 28
Learn how to communicate, interact, and collaborate with colleagues directly from your computer desktop using web-based video and audio, a shared whiteboard, chat, and application-sharing.  Chuck Della Lana, Audio Visual Services Manager, will show you how to see, talk to, and work with colleagues who may be off-campus.

October 9 (Thursday) “Blackboard” in Corns 109
This course management system allows faculty to post course content, communicate with students, set up quizzes or surveys, and manage grades online.  Training provided by staff from the University of Cincinnati.

Noon hour: “An Overview of Blackboard” for new users where the major features of Blackboard will be demonstrated.  The “hows” and “whys” of using Blackboard in the classroom will be discussed.

1-3 pm: “Open Q&A Session” with University of Cincinnati staff who will be available to answer questions about Blackboard.  Computers will be available for you to try out what you have learned.  Stay as long (or short) a time as you desire.

3-5 pm: “Advanced Blackboard Training” is a hands-on session focusing on advanced features such as including multimedia items, assignments and testing.  This session assumes a basic knowledge of Blackboard.

October 29 (Wednesday) “Why Wiki, And How!” in Corns 109
Wikis and other Web 2.0 collaborative technologies are changing the world.  They are exceptionally useful tools to encourage participation, collaboration, and interaction.  David Soliday, Trainer/Help Desk Manager, will show how to put wikis to work for your classes.

November 12 (Wednesday) “Digitization Projects” in AV 27
Emily Haddaway, Digital Librarian, will show her work on the Branch Rickey Digitization Project and explain how you can use the OhioLINK institutional repository for your digitization projects.

December 3 (Wednesday) “Intro to Office 2007” in Corns 109
Can you believe the latest version of Microsoft Office is almost two years old?  There are many new features and a very different interface.  David Soliday, Trainer/Help Desk Manager, will highlight the differences from previous versions and demonstrate new features.
