Welcome to the Ohio Wesleyan Hillel Homepage
I have received a number of inquiries recently about Hillel and Jewish life at Ohio
Wesleyan. I thought I would construct this brief homepage to make people aware of
the range of activities. When the students return in the fall with their superior
computer skills, look for a new and improved page. In the mean time, please feel
free to contact me with any questions you might have.

So What Does the OWU Hillel DO?
We have a wide mix of activities. In the last two years we
have had
- Shabbot Dinners
- A Trip to a Temple in Columbus for Shabbot Services
- Visits to Columbus Synagogues and The Ohio State Hillel for the
High Holidays
- A Hanukah party (See below. Marsel Tadger made latkes
at the party last December. A good time was had by all!)
- A Holocaust speaker
- A movie night
- A Passover Seder (We had fifty people. Professor Michael Flamm led a beautiful
seder. We enjoyed lamb, gefilte fish, matzo and all the rest.)

Mazel Tov
- Gabe Elias and another OWU Hillel member were selected by Livnot
for an Israel Birthright trip this summer to explore Judaism and Israel.
- Bob Gitter, Hillel Advisor, was selected by the Ohio Wesleyan
Religious Life Committee for the Kearns Award. The United Methodist Church has
designated him at the Exemplary Teacher of the Year from Ohio Wesleyan, in part for his
work with Hillel.
