A little bit about me: My name is Christian Eakins and I'm a senior physics major at Ohio Wesleyan University. This page will serve as a jumping off point for my Geography 353 (Cartography and Visualization) web pages as well as my Wordpress blog.
Why are you taking geography courses?: Well, frankly, doing physics 24/7 kinda wears one out. And I need upper-level credit to graduate. And Dr. Krygier is just that awesome.
As a physics major, do you have time for a real life?: Actually, yes, yes I do. I am a brother in the Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi here at OWU as well as being a member of Astronomy Club (yeah, yeah, I know - still kinda geeky) and the treasurer of the OWU chapter of the Society for Physics Students (SPS). I enjoy working on my car, a 1991 BMW 325iX
A quick history of the iX: In the 1980s after Audi started dominating the rally scene with
their new all-wheel drive system (dubbed "Quattro") BMW employed their engineers to develop their own AWD system.
In 1986 BMW released the 325iX incorporating a viscous-coupling center differential with a 37/63 (F/R) torque
split which matched the car's balance under acceleration, as well as modified suspension, to compete with Audi's
UrQuattro. The iX was powered by the tried-but-true M20B25 (2.5L inline six) with a modified oil-pan to allow for
the front differential.
as well as collecting/repairing fountain pens, riding my motorcycle (whenever I can ) and photography.
