The Book Review Section

If you are looking for the headquarters website of The Historian (e.g. for online subscriptions, etc.), click here. If, on the other hand, you are interested in the work of the Book Review section, we have a sizeable collection of information here at your disposal. Publishers can find our offprints policy, as well as information on how we select books for review, and directions on mailing books to us for consideration. Reviewers and potential reviewers will find our style sheets, tips on preparing reviews, and our copyright form in pdf format.

The Historian is the quarterly journal of history published by Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honor society. The Book Review Section of The Historian has been located at Ohio Wesleyan University since 1993. Working under the direction of Dr. Richard Spall, the Book Review Editor, a staff of approximately twenty undergraduate students processes over 2,500 books and several hundred reviews each year. The Book Review Section does its best to coordinate efforts with, and be responsive to the needs of publishers, authors, and reviewers. We value and look forward to your feedback and comments.
