Welcome to the website of the
Book Review Section of The Historian. If you are looking for the
main website of The Historian (e.g. for online subscriptions, etc.),
If, on the other hand, you are interested in the work of the Book Review
section, we have a sizeable collection of information here at your
disposal. Publishers can find our offprints policy, as well as
information on how we select books for review, and directions on mailing
books to us for consideration. Reviewers and potential reviewers will
find our style sheets, tips on preparing reviews, and our copyright form in
pdf format.
About the Book
Review Section of The Historian
The Historian is the quarterly journal of history published by Phi
Alpha Theta, the national history honor society. It is the
second-largest journal to publish material covering the all fields of
history. The Book Review Section of The Historian has been
located at Ohio
Wesleyan University
since 1993. Working under the direction of Dr. Richard Spall, the
Book Review Editor, a staff of twenty undergraduate students processes over
2,000 books and several hundred reviews each year. The Book Review
office also provides prizes to the winners of Phi Alpha Theta's annual
research paper contest. The Book Review Section does its best to
coordinate efforts with, and be responsive to the needs of publishers,
authors, and reviewers. We value and look forward to your feedback and
comments. If you desire to contact us for any reason, please feel free
to do so by clicking on the "Contact Us" link at your left.
