Cable TV service is activated in every room when you arrive on campus. Service will be active at no charge until the last day of August. Cable TV request forms are available from your RA, moderator, or house President. Please fill out this form and bring to the Telecommunications Office, in Smith Hall, room 207. If you wish to continue service after August 31st, your request form must be received in the Telecommunications Office by the 29th. Service for those who have not signed up will be deactivated on September 1.
You may obtain a cable for hookup from the outlet to your television or VCR. These cables are available from any department store or Radio Shack. If you would like the University to provide the cable from the outlet to your TV, indicate so on the request form. These will be provided at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
The cost for cable service is $27.00 per month for residence hall rooms. Additional hookups within the room will be charged at $5.00 per outlet. Service to fraternities is available to the entire house only. Individual requests within a house cannot be honored. A list of monthly charges for these houses is available in the Telecommunications Office.
A monthly bill will be sent to the HWCC box of the individual whose name is on the cable service request form. Payment must be made at the Cashier’s Office. If full payment is not received by the 15th of each month, your cable TV service will be disconnected. To reinstate service, a $10 reconnection fee must be paid. If you do not receive a bill in your mailbox, you must call x3975 to request a duplicate bill.
Cable service is disconnected after graduation. If you wish to continue service during the summer, you must sign up again in the Telecommunications Office.
