The Historian is the only professional journal to employ
undergraduates. In fact, all of the book review section staff, apart
from the Editor and Sub-Editors, are undergraduates. This staff of
around twenty students bears responsibility for all the daily operations of
the book review section, from corresponding with publishers and reviewers to
proofing reviews and managing the large supply of books on hand.
Senior Editorial Assistants
The Senior Editorial Assistants are the student managers of the book
review section office. They assist Dr. Spall in overseeing the office
and ensuring that our office operates effectively.
- Ryan Jarvis, 08 – Ryan
is a junior history major from Danville,
Ohio. This is his fourth
year on the staff.
- Jennifer Kirsop –
Jennifer is a sophomore zoology major from Bay Village, Ohio.
This is her third year on the staff.

Jillian is a senior history and politics major from Cleveland, Ohio.

- Benjamin Malecki - Ben
is a junior history major from Cleveland,
Ohio. This is his first
year on the staff.

a freshman history major. This is her first year on the staff.
- Mark Lovering - Mark
is a sophomore history major from New
Albany, Ohio.
